Disasters in coastal areas often lead to further health problems, particularly related to clean and healthy living behaviors (PHBS), environmental sanitation, and low community preparedness in dealing with post-disaster conditions. This community service activity aims to improve health literacy in coastal communities in Taman Ayu Gerung by involving the TSBD as a local driver. The community service method is carried out in a participatory manner through the stages of preparation, identification of health problems, implementation of health literacy, mentoring health practices, and evaluation. Literacy is provided through interactive lectures, discussions, questions and answers, visual presentations, and simulations of handwashing practices, clean water use, household waste management, and post-disaster first aid. The results of the community service show an increase in participants' understanding of PHBS and handling health problems after a disaster, as well as the formation of an active role of TSBD as peer educators who are able to continue education to other community groups. These findings emphasize the importance of a community-based approach to strengthening the health resilience of coastal communities in a sustainable manner.
Harlina RusianaLalu Amri YasirRias Pratiwi SafitriBaiq Nurul HidayatiAnna Layla Salfarina

Speaking skills in high school English learning are often treated as measurable competencies rather than meaningful communicative experiences, leading to low student confidence, anxiety, and disengagement. This community service activity addressed the gap in existing research by exploring high school students' perspectives on literature-based storytelling training considered as a dimension frequently overlooked in prior studies that predominantly focused on linguistic outcomes. Using Participatory Action Research (PAR), this program engaged 32 Grade XI students from a public high school in Semarang as active participants throughout the planning, implementation, and reflection stages. Data were collected through open reflective questionnaires, focus group discussions, and voluntary student journals, then analyzed using inductive thematic analysis. Four key themes emerged from the findings: (1) storytelling as a psychologically safe space for self-expression, (2) literary texts as a bridge to cultural reflection, (3) a motivational shift from obligation to genuine enjoyment of English, and (4) a growing aesthetic awareness of the art of storytelling. These findings affirm that literature-based storytelling holds significant transformative potential beyond linguistic skill development, fostering students' identities as language users. Integrating storytelling as a regular component of English-speaking instruction, alongside culturally relevant text selection and qualitative evaluation, is strongly recommended for sustainable and student-centered language learning.
Ratih Laily NurjanahSri Waluyo

Traffic accidents involving adolescents remain a major public health and road safety concern in Indonesia. Limited knowledge of traffic regulations and safe riding practices contributes to risky behaviors among students, including the widespread practice of carrying more than one passenger on a motorcycle (three-passenger riding). This community service program aimed to enhance students' understanding of traffic safety regulations and increase legal awareness regarding safe riding practices, particularly the prohibition of three-passenger motorcycle riding. The program was conducted at Pondok Pesantren Tahfidz Quran Miftahul Jannah, Bandar Lampung, involving 50 students. The intervention employed expository learning combined with interactive discussions and question-and-answer sessions. Educational materials were developed based on Law Number 22 of 2009 concerning Traffic and Road Transportation and related literature. Evaluation was conducted through direct observation of participants' engagement and responses during the educational activities. The results showed that, prior to the program, participants' understanding of traffic safety was generally limited to helmet use and avoiding reckless driving. Following the educational activities, participants demonstrated improved understanding of traffic regulations, legal sanctions for traffic violations, ticket (tilang) procedures, and the safety risks associated with three-passenger motorcycle riding.
Aditia Arief FirmantoDwi Arrasy Aprillia RSAlif Irfan WiryawanNamuda FarellianKlara Ayu AlvarizaBunga Syifa ArzilaSahl Abdullah Al Faruq Arraki

This community service program aimed to implement Posyandu (Integrated Health Service Post) activities as a preventive and promotive strategy to improve the health status of infants and older adults. The program was initiated in response to the need for accessible primary healthcare services, particularly for vulnerable populations such as infants and the elderly. Infants require regular growth and developmental monitoring to facilitate the early detection of health problems, while older adults benefit from routine health assessments to identify risk factors for non-communicable diseases and maintain their overall quality of life. The program employed a participatory and educational approach that emphasized community involvement in preventive and health-promoting activities. The target participants included infants, their parents or caregivers, and older adults. The implementation consisted of four stages: preparation, implementation, evaluation, and follow-up. Activities for infants included weight and height measurements, documentation of health records in child health monitoring books, and health education on exclusive breastfeeding, balanced nutrition, immunization, and growth and developmental monitoring. For older adults, activities included blood pressure screening, health interviews to identify current health concerns, documentation of examination results, and health education on healthy lifestyles, light physical activity, and the prevention of degenerative diseases. The findings indicate that the implementation of Posyandu served as an effective platform for the early detection of health conditions, enhanced community knowledge, and strengthened community participation in maintaining the health of infants and older adults. Participants demonstrated high levels of engagement throughout the program and gained a better understanding of the importance of routine health examinations, continuous monitoring of child growth and development, and the adoption of healthy lifestyle practices during older adulthood.
Erna FitriatunSukarman SukarmanIndri SusilawatiMuhammad Satria MulyajayaSri Erny MuliyaniMuhsan Muhsan

Digital transformation in healthcare services is an important strategy to improve access and quality of public healthcare services. However, the use of digital health applications still faces various obstacles, particularly related to the level of digital literacy of users. This study aims to analyze the effect of education on the use of the Mobile National Health Insurance (JKN) application on improving participants' knowledge and skills in accessing healthcare services independently. The study used a pre-experimental design with a one-group pretest-posttest approach involving 50 JKN participants selected using a purposive sampling technique. The variables measured included the level of knowledge and skills in using the Mobile JKN application before and after the educational intervention. Data were analyzed using descriptive analysis and the Wilcoxon Signed Rank Test because the data were not normally distributed. The results showed that the average knowledge score of participants increased from 62.4 to 84.7, while the average skill score increased from 58.1 to 86.3 after the intervention. The Wilcoxon test results showed a significant difference between the values before and after education for the knowledge variables (p < 0.001) and skills (p < 0.001). These findings indicate that education on the use of the Mobile JKN application is effective in improving participants' ability to utilize digital health services. The research findings have important implications for the development of digital health literacy programs to support the transformation of technology-based health services and increase optimal utilization of JKN services.
SyamdarniatiAnna Layla SalfarinaRaudatul JannahBaiq Ricca AfridaNi Putu Aryani

Sumberwaru Village, Jember Regency, is one of the major cattle-farming areas with a relatively large livestock population. However, cattle manure management remains inadequate. Most manure is left to accumulate around livestock sheds, generating unpleasant odors and posing environmental pollution risks, while a portion is discharged into irrigation channels, potentially degrading environmental quality. This community service program involved 25 members of a farmer group as target beneficiaries and aimed to increase the value of cattle manure through the production of high-quality organic fertilizer. The methods employed included educational outreach, technical training, and participatory mentoring, accompanied by evaluations using pre-test and post-test assessments as well as quality testing of the produced fertilizer. The results demonstrated that the participating farmer group members were able to understand and apply manure-processing techniques for organic fertilizer production. The resulting organic fertilizer met the required quality standards, with a C/N ratio of 18.4, a pH value of 7.2, and nitrogen (N), phosphorus (P), and potassium (K) contents that satisfied the minimum criteria for organic fertilizers. In addition to transforming livestock waste into a value-added product with economic potential, the program contributed to reducing environmental pollution and promoting sustainable agricultural practices.
Elok kurnia novita SariDimas TriardiantoAdhima AdhamatikaShinta WidyaningtyasAnnisa'u Choirun

The current national education system uses two main frameworks that are still flexible, namely the Independent Curriculum and the 2013 curriculum. The purpose of this activity is to provide understanding and training on deep learning approaches in intracurricular and co-curricular learning. The main focus in this curriculum is deep learning. Through initial studies and observations at partner schools, the initial conditions of mentoring, or current priority problems experienced by the first partner, there are still teachers who do not understand the principles of deep learning. Second, there has been no development of deep learning-based teaching tools. Third, there are still teachers who have not implemented active learning methods. Fourth, there has been no implementation in the official curriculum. Based on the initial conditions of mentoring or priority problems experienced by the partners, the solution offered by the first service team is to socialize teachers about the principles of the deep learning approach in learning. Second, the service team helps teachers develop deep learning-based teaching tools. Third, the service team conducts active learning method training using renewable technologies. Fourth, the service team provides assistance in the implementation of the official curriculum. The methods used in this PKM include socialization, training, mentoring, monitoring, evaluation, and follow-up. The service team contributes as facilitators, trainers, and companions who help teachers transition from theoretical understanding of deep learning to real-world practice in the classroom, while ensuring its sustainability through school policy support. This activity has achieved its goal, which is to successfully overcome the problems experienced by partners.
SenowarsitoSoedjonoYuli Kurniati WerdiningsihAle Sandya Rindi Amida
